유럽 각 국의 젊은 작가들이 참여하는 싱글채널 비디오페스티벌 <Euroscreen 21/유로스크린21 프로젝트>가 한국에 소개 됩니다.
인사미술공간 4층 아카이브(서울 종로구 인사동 소재) 에서는 8월10일 부터 8월 21일까지 Euroscreen 21 프로젝트 비디오 스크리닝과 워크 샵이 진행되고 있습니다. 유럽의 젊은 비디오 및 미디어아트의 경향을 볼수 있는 좋은 기회인 듯 합니다.

“Point of View”
a media-art project by Euroscreen21projects in 2005
“Point of View” is a border-crossing art project in the range of video/new media art.
European new-media performers apply in an open procedure with a short video as first step. All genres will be accepted.
The concentration on geographical Europe takes up the current necessity in development policy: the promotion of dialogue and understanding among the various cultures.
According to the title,”Point of View”, the artist may choose his/her very individual approach towards the project.
In addition to already established new-media artists, on this ocassion also very young performers will receive special attention. The following generation will thus be supported and gets an opportunity to enter existing networks.
Especially in times of an increasingly medialised world threatened by rising violence as well as the negative consequences of globalisation, the position of the individual or here as a focus, the artist’s point of view, seem to be of growing concern.
The project can render information on the personal choice of aspects made by the participants, on the topics considered as especially important and on the chosen approach.
A critical dialogue on current issues in art and society will thus arise and cross national borders in various ways due to the project method.
The medium of the DVD will allow the selected works to leave their locally restricted place of demonstration. These works will represent a starting point for projections, installations, performances,discussions, workshops etc in numerous cultural places in Europe. First presentation place will be the district town of Wesel on the Rhine, Germany, situated in direct proximity to the Netherlands and Belgium. For information on the program, please check the column “timetable”.

“Standpunkt”, Ein Medienkunstprojekt von Euroscreen21projects im Jahr 2005
“Standpunkt” ist ein grenzüberschreitendes Kunstprojekt im Bereich Video/Neue Medien. In einer offenen Ausschreibung bewerben sich europäische Medienkünstler zunächst mit einem Kurzvideo. Zugelassen sind alle Genren.
Eine Konzentration auf das geografische Europa greift hier die entwicklungspolitische Situation auf: der Förderung des Dialoges und der Verständigung zwischen verschiedenen Kulturen.
Die Themenstellung des Projektes “Standpunkt”, engl. “Point of View” ist für die Künstler völlig frei interpretierbar. Neben etablierten Medienkünstlern finden diesmal auch sehr junge Künstler besondere Beachtung. Die nachfolgende Generation wird somit gefördert und bekommt die Gelegenheit sich in bestehende Netzwerke einzufinden.
Gerade in Zeiten der zunehmenden Medialisierung der Welt, der steigenden Gewalt und der nachteiligen Auswirkungen der Globalisierung erscheint eine Fragestellung nach dem Standpunkt oder nach dem Blickwinkel Einzelner und im Besonderen hier der Künstler, von Interesse.
Das Projekt kann Auskünfte geben, auf welche Aspekte die Kunstschaffenden sich individuell konzentrieren, welchen Themenfeldern sie besondere Wichtigkeit beimessen oder welche Haltung sie einnehmen.
Kritische Dialoge über aktuelle künstlerische und gesellschaftliche Fragen werden so angeregt und wirken durch die Mechnik des Projektablaufes mehrfach grenzüberschreitend.
Die ausgewählten Arbeiten werden durch das Medium DVD nicht an einen einzelnen lokalen Präsentationsort gebunden bleiben, sondern werden Ausgangspunkt für Projektionen, Installationen, Performances, Diskussionen, Worksshops usw. in vielen Kulturorten Europas. Erster Präsentationsort wird die Kreisstadt Wesel am Rhein, Deutschland sein, die in unmittelbarer Nähe zu den Niederlanden und Belgien liegt. Das Programm entnehmen sie bitte der Rubrik: “timetable”.
